ANSYS 11.0 Release
New Features and Enhancements
ANSYS 11.0 offers new advances in combining core technology within the ANSYS Workbench interface, providing enhanced user productivity and integrated solutions within the related products.
Legacy import: ANSYS can generate geometry from a legacy mesh file from ANSYS, ABAQUS and NASTRAN, and that geometry can be used for re-meshing.
A new Geometry Interface for CATIA v5 is available that has parametric geometry associativity between CATIA v5 and ANSYS
A new rigid body dynamics solver is available. Joints are automatically detected as the geometry is imported. Flexible and rigid bodies can be solved in the same analysis using the same interface.
ANSYS Mechanical VT Accelerator is a new feature, part of the ANSYS HPC (High Performance Computing) product. It uses variational technology to speed up the transient analysis - in a typical thermal transient analysis of a turbine blade, with 288,727 elements & 456,635 nodes, the initial analysis was speeded up by a factor of 2, and the resolve was speeded up by a factor of 8.6.
A new product, ANSYS Professional NLS, has been released. It is an upgrade for users of ANSYS DesignSpace, and adds static structural nonlinear capabilities of ANSYS, including nonlinear materials, large deflection analysis and contact with friction.
More of the new features of ANSYS 11.0 are described in the ANSYS 11.0 New Features Seminar Prospectus
