FE-Based Fatigue Analysis.
Overview
The FE-based fatigue software enables fatigue lives to be calculated from finite element results through interfaces from a range of FE pre-post processors including ANSYS. This course provides instruction and several hands-on examples:- Simple Stress-Life analysis
- Variable amplitude Strain-Life analysis
- Multiple load Strain-Life analysis.
Techniques for accelerating the analysis process are used and discussed.
Further practicalities are discussed such as the selection of appropriate FE and fatigue methods and options for multiaxial fatigue analysis.
Some background in fatigue theory and finite element analysis is assumed.
The course will cover the following topics:- Introduction to nSoft FEFatigue
- Simple Linear elastic analysis in SN & EN
- Using multiple load cases
- Multiaxial assessment
- Duty Cycle Analysis
- Transient analysis and modal superposition
- Materials database manipulation
Benefits
This software usage training course will provide you with a complete working knowledge of the features of FEFatigue from the simplicity of a linear static analysis to the power of an automated duty cycle analysis of many multiaxial, transient load cases.
Who Should Attend
All FE engineers wishing to investigate fatigue and durability in terms of life estimation, materials and manufacturing optimisation and failure analysis.
Recommended background knowledge
- The "Basic Fatigue Theory'' course is definitely prerequisite training for the FEFatigue course.
- A working knowledge of the finite element method and any finite element pre/post processor is also desirable.
